The Plan - Jan 2010

Although I have painted pictures for some years now, my growing interest in wildlife has resulted in the desire to learn how to paint birds in particular.

I intend to add to this blog my progress in the sketching and painting process. Whilst there is no substitute for sketching outdoors as you see the subject, the practicalities of this mean that I am starting, by sketching from photographs, which I have taken on my earlier birding outings.

My favourite wildlife art style is when the images are simply prepared and not overworked, so that is what I shall try to work towards.

How far I can progress, only time will tell - but here goes.
